The letters were taken by messengers to every part of the kingdom, and this is what was said in the letters: On the thirteenth day of Adar, the twelfth month, all Jewish men, women, and children are to be killed. And their property is to be taken.

Some time later the LORD said to Moses and Aaron:

We may make a lot of plans, but the LORD will do what he has decided.

Don't boast about tomorrow! Each day brings its own surprises.

No one can do anything without the Lord's approval.

You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations.

But they said, “We must not do it during Passover, because the people will riot.”

It was now two days before Passover and the Festival of Thin Bread. The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses were secretly planning to have Jesus arrested and put to death.

Before all this happens, you will be arrested and punished. You will be tried in your meeting places and put in jail. Because of me you will be placed on trial before kings and governors.

Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to jail and even to die with you.”

After the soldiers had nailed Jesus to the cross, they divided up his clothes into four parts, one for each of them. But his outer garment was made from a single piece of cloth, and it did not have any seams.

I tell you for certain that when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will hold out your hands. Then others will tie your belt around you and lead you where you don't want to go.”

When Herod saw that this pleased the Jewish people, he had Peter arrested during the Festival of Thin Bread.

While Peter was being kept in jail, the church never stopped praying to God for him.

They did what you in your power and wisdom had already decided would happen.

It was already late in the afternoon, and they arrested Peter and John and put them in jail for the night.

They arrested the apostles and put them in the city jail.

Saul started making a lot of trouble for the church. He went from house to house, arresting men and women and putting them in jail.
