The Lord has said: “These people praise me with their words, but they never really think about me. They worship me by repeating rules made up by humans.

Watch out for false prophets! They dress up like sheep, but inside they are wolves who have come to attack you.

We must stop acting like children. We must not let deceitful people trick us by their false teachings, which are like winds that toss us around from place to place.

Be on your guard against any followers who refuse to obey what we have written in this letter. Put them to shame by not having anything to do with them.

My dear friends, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I beg you not to have anything to do with any of your people who waste their time and refuse to obey the instructions we gave you.

Don't have anything to do with worthless, senseless stories. Work hard to be truly religious.

As the saying goes, “Exercise is good for your body, but religion helps you in every way. It promises life now and for ever.” These words are worthwhile and should not be forgotten.

People who don't take care of their relatives, and especially their own families, have given up their faith. They are worse than someone who doesn't have faith in the Lord.

and nasty quarrels. They have wicked minds and have missed out on the truth. These people think religion is supposed to make you rich.

Keep away from worthless and useless talk. It only leads people further away from God.

Stay away from stupid and senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble,

Such people claim to know God, but their actions prove that they really don't. They are disgusting. They won't obey God, and they are too worthless to do anything good.

Warn troublemakers once or twice. Then don't have anything else to do with them.
