Finally, Abraham said, “Please don't get angry, LORD, if I speak just once more. Suppose you find only ten good people there.” “For the sake of ten good people,” the LORD told him, “I still won't destroy the city.”
“Please,” she replied, “swear by the LORD your God that no one will be allowed to kill my son!” He said, “I swear by the living LORD that no one will touch even a hair on his head!”
The woman said: Haven't you been hurting God's people? Your own son had to leave the country. And when you judged in my favour, it was the same as admitting that you should have let him come back.
When he came, the woman said, “Are you Joab?” “Yes, I am,” he answered. She said, “Please, listen to what I have to say.” “All right,” he said. “I'll listen.”
Whenever I complain to you, LORD, you are always fair. But now I have questions about your justice. Why is life easy for sinners? Why are they successful?
