David still felt so sad over the loss of Amnon that he wanted to take his army there and capture Absalom.

and he sent someone to bring in the wise woman who lived in Tekoa. Joab told her, “Put on funeral clothes and don't use any make up. Go to the king and pretend you have spent a long time mourning the death of a loved one.” Then he told her what to say.

David started trembling. Then he went up to the room above the city gate to cry. As he went, he kept saying, “My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! I wish I could have died instead of you! Absalom, my son, my son!”

David's army found out he was crying because his son had died, and their day of victory suddenly turned into a day of sadness.

David held his hands over his face and kept on crying loudly, “My son, Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!”

Zeruiah's three sons were there: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Asahel could run as fast as a deer in an open field,

Jesse also had two daughters: Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah was the mother of Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.
