Elisha answered, “I have a message for you. The LORD promises that tomorrow here in Samaria, you will be able to buy a large sack of flour or two large sacks of barley for almost nothing.”

Micaiah replied: Listen to this! I also saw the LORD seated on his throne with every creature in heaven gathered around him.

Then Isaiah told Hezekiah: I have a message for you from the LORD.

A man from the town of Baal-Shalishah brought Elisha some freshly cut grain and twenty loaves of bread made from the first barley that was harvested. Elisha said, “Give it to the people so they can eat.”

They kept up the attack until there was nothing to eat in the city. In fact, a donkey's head cost about eighty pieces of silver, and a small bowl of pigeon droppings cost five pieces of silver.

Before Elisha finished talking, the messenger came up and said, “The LORD has made all these terrible things happen to us. Why should I think he will help us now?”

At once the people went to the Syrian camp and carried off what was left. They took so much that a large sack of flour and two large sacks of barley sold for almost nothing, just as the LORD had promised.

God is in that city, and it won't be shaken. He will help it at dawn.

But Moses answered, “Don't be afraid! Be brave, and you will see the LORD save you today. These Egyptians will never bother you again.

“I have heard my people complain. Now tell them that each evening they will have meat and each morning they will have more than enough bread. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.”

You are no better than the leaders and people of Sodom and Gomorrah! So listen to the LORD God:

He then told me to say: Dry bones, listen to what the LORD is saying to you,

“There is a boy here who has five small loaves of barley bread and two fish. But what good is that with all these people?”

Joshua told the people, “Make yourselves acceptable to worship the LORD, because he is going to do some amazing things for us.”

I heard what sounded like a voice from somewhere among the four living creatures. It said, “A litre of wheat will cost you a whole day's wages! Three litres of barley will cost you a day's wages too. But don't ruin the olive oil or the wine.”

Saul and his officers sent the messengers back to Jabesh with this promise: “We will rescue you tomorrow afternoon.” The messengers went back to the people at Jabesh and told them that they were going to be rescued. Everyone was encouraged!

One day, Samuel told Saul: The LORD made me choose you to be king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the LORD:
