But Jesus replied, “Why are you so afraid? You don't have much faith.” Then he got up and ordered the wind and the waves to calm down. And everything was calm.

Aren't you going to punish them? We won't stand a chance when this army attacks. We don't know what to do—we are begging for your help.

But you will be more terrified than ever before. God will scatter the bones of his enemies, and you will be ashamed when God rejects you.

Moses and Joshua his assistant got ready, then Moses started up the mountain to meet with God.

They arrived at Salamis and began to preach God's message in the Jewish meeting places. They also had John as a helper.

While one of the prophets was working, his axe head fell off and dropped into the water. “Oh!” he shouted. “Sir, I borrowed this axe.”

Because of what you've done, Naaman's leprosy will now be on you and your descendants for ever!” Suddenly, Gehazi's skin became white with leprosy, and he left.

Gehazi said to himself, “Elisha let that Syrian off too easily. He should have taken Naaman's gift. I swear by the living LORD that I will talk to Naaman myself and get something from him.”

Jehoshaphat said, “Which of the LORD's prophets is with us? We can find out from him what the LORD wants us to do.” One of Joram's officers answered, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He was one of Elijah's closest followers.”

Elisha left and took his oxen with him. He killed them and boiled them over a fire he had made with the wood from his plough. He gave the meat to the people who were with him, and they ate it. Then he left with Elijah and became his assistant.

He ordered his best troops to go there with horses and chariots. They marched out during the night and surrounded the town.

“Don't be afraid,” Elisha answered. “There are more troops on our side than on theirs.”
