Then seven other heads of grain came up. They were thin and scorched by a wind from the desert.

Later, seven other heads of grain appeared, but they were thin and scorched by the east wind.

Without the help of the LORD it is useless to build a home or to guard a city.

Though the wicked sprout and spread like grass, they will be pulled up by their roots.

The Babylonian soldiers have lost their strength and courage. They stay in their fortresses, unable to fight, while the enemy breaks through the city gates, then sets their homes on fire.

The enemy now controls the river crossings! The marshes are on fire! Your army has panicked!”

The LORD answered, “I can do anything! Watch and you'll see my words come true.”

So don't rebel. We have no reason to be afraid of the people who live there. The LORD is on our side, and they won't stand a chance against us!

Whatever I say to you in the dark, you must tell in the light. And you must announce from the housetops whatever I have whispered to you.

The Scriptures say, “Humans wither like grass, and their glory fades like wild flowers. Grass dries up, and flowers fall to the ground.
