Hezekiah trusted the LORD God of Israel. No other king of Judah was like Hezekiah, either before or after him.

One of the Assyrian commanders told them: I have a message for Hezekiah from the great king of Assyria. Ask Hezekiah why he feels so sure of himself.

Don't trust your God or be fooled by his promise to defend Jerusalem against me.

No other king before or after Josiah tried as hard as he did to obey the Law of Moses.

Asa prayed: LORD God, only you can help a powerless army defeat a stronger one. So we depend on you to help us. We will fight against this powerful army to honour your name, and we know that you won't be defeated. You are the LORD our God.

God may kill me, but still I will trust him and offer my defence.

I trust your love, and I feel like celebrating because you rescued me.

LORD God All-Powerful, you bless everyone who trusts you.

Is Hezekiah now depending on the LORD, your God? Didn't Hezekiah tear down all except one of the LORD's altars and places of worship? Didn't he tell the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship at that one place?

“Don't forget that I have been faithful to you, LORD. I have obeyed you with all my heart, and I do whatever you say is right.” After this, he cried hard.

He trusted God, so let God save him, if he wants to. He even said he was God's Son.”

He did this so that we Jews would bring honour to him and be the first ones to have hope because of him.
