Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Azariah's rule in Judah, but he ruled only six months from Samaria.

Later the LORD said, “Jehu, you have done right by destroying Ahab's entire family, just as I had planned. So I will make sure that the next four kings of Israel will come from your own family.”

After his death the people of Judah made his son Azariah king, even though he was only sixteen at the time.

Jeroboam died and was buried, and his son Zechariah became king.

Azariah son of Amaziah became king of Judah in Jeroboam's twenty-seventh year as king of Israel.

Shallum became king of Israel in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah's rule in Judah. But only one month after Shallum became king,

Like his ancestors, Zechariah disobeyed the LORD by following the evil ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused the Israelites to sin.

In time of civil war there are many leaders, but a sensible leader restores law and order.

Then the LORD said, “Hosea, name your son Jezreel, because I will soon punish the descendants of King Jehu of Israel for the murders he committed in Jezreel Valley. I will destroy his kingdom,

Their sacred places will be destroyed, and I will send war against the nation of King Jeroboam.”
