Straight away the woman killed a calf that she had been fattening up. She cooked part of the meat and baked some thin bread.

Abraham quickly went to his tent and said to Sarah, “Hurry! Get a large sack of flour and make some bread.”

Get the best calf and prepare it, so we can eat and celebrate.

The servant answered, “Your brother has come home safe and sound, and your father ordered us to kill the best calf.”

Then she served the food to Saul and his officers, who ate and left before daylight.
