Our LORD, those who attack you will be broken in pieces when you fight back with thunder from heaven. You will judge the whole earth and give power and strength to your chosen king.

Some people trust the power of chariots or horses, but we trust you, LORD God.

Our LORD, your mighty power makes the king glad, and he celebrates victories that you have given him.

You give strength to your people, LORD, and you save and protect your chosen ones.

You love justice and hate evil. And so, your God chose you and made you happier than any of your friends.

Your own glorious power makes us strong, and because of your kindness, our strength increases.

He will always be able to depend on my love, and I will make him strong with my own power.

I will let him rule the lands across the rivers and seas.

to the LORD. He is coming to judge all people on earth with fairness and truth.

Let them worship the LORD! He is coming to judge everyone on the earth, and he will be honest and fair.

With the tremendous force of your right arm, our LORD, you crushed your enemies.

Be cheerful and enjoy life while you are young! Do what you want and find pleasure in what you see. But don't forget that God will judge you for everything you do.

God will judge everything we do, even what is done in secret, whether good or bad.

I, the LORD All-Powerful, will come to your rescue with a thundering earthquake and a fiery whirlwind.

A king and his leaders will rule with justice.

They will admit that I alone can bring about justice. Everyone who is angry with me will be terribly ashamed and will turn to me.

Ezekiel, when Egypt is defeated, I will make the people of Israel strong, and I will give you the power to speak to them. Then they will know that I, the LORD, have done these things.

Then the king will say to those on his right, “My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created.

Jesus came to them and said: I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth!

God gave the Holy Spirit and power to Jesus from Nazareth. He was with Jesus, as he went around doing good and healing everyone who was under the power of the devil.

Here in Jerusalem, Herod and Pontius Pilate got together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel. Then they turned against your holy Servant Jesus, your chosen Messiah.

After all, Christ will judge each of us for the good or the bad that we do while living in these bodies.

Our LORD, we pray that all your enemies will die like Sisera. But let everyone who loves you shine brightly like the sun at dawn.

You asked for a king, and you chose one. Now he stands here where all of you can see him. But it was really the LORD who made him your king.

Isn't this the dry season? I'm going to ask the LORD to send a thunderstorm. When you see it, you will realize how wrong you were to ask for a king.

Samuel prayed, and that same day the LORD sent a thunderstorm. Everyone was afraid of the LORD and of Samuel.

Let me ask this. Have I ever taken anyone's ox or donkey or forced you to give me anything? Have I ever hurt anyone or taken a bribe to give an unfair decision? Answer me so the LORD and his chosen king can hear you. And if I have done any of these things, I will give it all back.

Samuel said, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel away from you today, and he will give it to someone who is better than you.

One day he said, “Samuel, I've rejected Saul, and I refuse to let him be king any longer. Stop feeling sad about him. Put some olive oil in a small container and go and visit a man named Jesse, who lives in Bethlehem. I've chosen one of his sons to be my king.”
