Who can stand the heat of his furious anger? It flashes out like fire and shatters stones.

And so, all of you will vanish like the mist or the dew of early morning, or husks of grain in the wind or smoke from a chimney.

The Lord was so fiercely angry that he burned the city of Zion to the ground.

But even if they roar like a fearsome flood, God will give the command to turn them back. They will be like dust, or like a tumbleweed blowing across the hills in a windstorm.

That isn't true of those who are evil— they are like straw blown by the wind.

The Lord said: Just wait for the day when I accuse you nations. I have decided on a day, when I will bring together every nation and kingdom and punish them all in my fiery anger. I will become furious and destroy the earth.

Not even your silver or gold can save you on that day when I, the Lord, am angry. My anger will flare up like a furious fire scorching the earth and everyone on it.”

How often does he strike them like a windstorm that scatters straw?

The sky and the earth won't last forever, but my words will.

I will give them my message, and what I say will certainly happen. Warn those rebels that the time has come for them to be punished. I, the Lord, make this promise.

I won't calm down, until I have finished what I have decided to do. Someday you will understand exactly what I mean.

You have ignored me! So pay close attention or I will tear you apart, and no one can help you.

Show respect to his son because if you don't, the Lord might become furious and suddenly destroy you. But he blesses and protects everyone who runs to him.

With all your hearts, keep the agreement I made with you. But if you are stubborn and keep on sinning, my anger will burn like a fire that cannot be put out. *
