The Lord was deeply concerned about his land and had pity on his people.

The Lord God demands loyalty. In his anger, he takes revenge on his enemies.

Please, Lord, look down from your holy and glorious home in the heavens and see what's going on. Have you lost interest? Where is your power? Show that you care about us and have mercy!

Justice was the Lord's armor; saving power was his helmet; anger and revenge were his clothes.

Who can stand the heat of his furious anger? It flashes out like fire and shatters stones.

The Lord All-Powerful said to me:

Some of the warriors who joined David were from the tribe of Manasseh. They had earlier gone with David when he agreed to fight on the side of the Philistines against King Saul.
