But I will turn Jerusalem into a heavy stone that crushes anyone who tries to lift it. When all nations on earth surround Jerusalem,

You will become insane and go blind. The Lord will make you so confused,

At that time I will let the clans of Judah be like a ball of fire in a wood pile or a fiery torch in a hay stack. Then Judah will send the surrounding nations up in smoke. And once again the city of Jerusalem will be filled with people.

In the past, God forgave all this because people did not know what they were doing. But now he says that everyone everywhere must turn to him.

On that day the people of Jerusalem will mourn as much as everyone did for Hadad Rimmon on the flatlands near Megiddo.

They will join in the fighting, and together they will trample their enemies like mud. They will fight, because I, the Lord, will be on their side. And they will crush the enemy cavalry.

God says, “I will stand guard to protect my temple from those who come to attack. I know what's happening, and no one will mistreat my people ever again.”

Please show mercy to your chosen city, not because we deserve it, but because of your great kindness.

They will come to my table and stuff themselves with the flesh of horses and warriors of every kind. I, the Lord God, have spoken.

This is the temple where you have chosen to be worshiped. Please watch over it day and night and listen when I turn toward it and pray.

As the Syrian army came closer, Elisha prayed, “Lord, make those soldiers blind!” And the Lord blinded them with a bright light.

He ordered his best troops to go there with horses and chariots. They marched out during the night and surrounded the town.

This is the temple where you have chosen to be worshiped. Please watch over it day and night and listen when I turn toward it and pray.

Then every clan in Judah will realize that I, the Lord All-Powerful, am their God, and that I am the source of their strength.
