Our Lord, I know that you defend the homeless and see that the poor are given justice.

Don't let them sneer and insult me for following you.

and the prayers of the homeless will be answered.

I pray to you, God, because you will help me. Listen and answer my prayer!

I pray to you, Lord! Please listen.

But you see the trouble and the distress, and you will do something. The poor can count on you, and so can orphans.

I am lonely and troubled. Show that you care and have pity on me.
