I am sinking deep in the mud, and my feet are slipping. I am about to be swept under by a mighty flood.

Rain poured down, rivers flooded, and winds beat against that house. But it was built on solid rock, and so it did not fall.

We worship you, Lord, and we should always pray whenever we find out that we have sinned. Then we won't be swept away by a raging flood.

I had sunk down deep below the mountains beneath the sea. I knew that forever, I would be a prisoner there. But, you, Lord God, rescued me from that pit.
