Then everyone will once again see the difference between those who obey me by doing right and those who reject me by doing wrong.

But you, Lord, are a mighty soldier, standing at my side. Those troublemakers will fall down and fail— terribly embarrassed, forever ashamed.

Show that you approve of me! Then my hateful enemies will feel like fools, because you have helped and comforted me.

Your hand is raised and ready to punish them, but they don't see it. Put them to shame! Show how much you care for us and throw them into the fire intended for your enemies.

If you keep being stubborn after many warnings, you will suddenly discover you have gone too far.

and wear a sparkling crown. But I will disgrace their enemies.”

When evil people see this, they angrily bite their tongues and disappear. They will never get what they really want.

They will be terrified, suddenly swept away and no longer there.

All day long I will announce your power to save. I will tell how you disgraced and disappointed those who wanted to hurt me.

Embarrass and destroy all who want me dead; disgrace and confuse all who want to hurt me.

Disappoint and confuse all who are glad to see me in trouble; disgrace and embarrass my proud enemies who say to me, “You are nothing!”

Don't disappoint any of your worshipers, but disappoint all deceitful liars.

Get angry, Lord God! Do something! Attack my furious enemies. See that justice is done.

People will think they are safe and secure. But destruction will suddenly strike them like the pains of a woman about to give birth. And they won't escape.

Punish them, God, and let their own plans bring their downfall. Get rid of them! They keep committing crimes and turning against you.

The Lord becomes furious and threatens them. His anger terrifies them as he says,

Stop accusing me falsely; my reputation is at stake.

the Lord sent him back to Hezekiah with this message: Hezekiah, you are the ruler of my people, and I am the Lord God, who was worshiped by your ancestor David. I heard you pray, and I saw you cry. I will heal you, so that three days from now you will be able to worship in my temple.

My friend turned against me and broke his promise.
