I cry like a swallow; I mourn like a dove. My eyes are red from looking to you, Lord. I am in terrible trouble. Please come and help me.

But God did listen and answered my prayer.

When I think of you, I feel restless and weak.

Listen to my concerns, God, and protect me from my enemies' threats.

We growl like bears and mourn like doves. We hope for justice and victory, but they escape us.

I run to you for protection. Why do you turn me away? Why must enemies mistreat me and make me sad?

My body is twisted and bent, and I groan all day long.

Before I confessed my sins, my bones felt limp, and I groaned all day long.

I am innocent, Lord! Won't you listen as I pray and beg for help? I am honest! Please hear my prayer.

I begged you to listen. “Help!” I shouted. “Save me!” You answered my prayer
