“What good will it do you if I am in the grave? Once I have turned to dust, how can I praise you or tell how loyal you are?
If I die, I cannot praise you or even remember you.
No one in the world of the dead can thank you or praise you; none of those in the deep pit can hope for you to show them how faithful you are.
Work hard at whatever you do. You will soon go to the world of the dead, where no one works or thinks or reasons or even knows anything.
And so my life is safe, and I will live to tell what the Lord has done.
I prayed to the Lord, and I praised him.
