The poor and the needy will be treated with fairness and with justice. His word will be law everywhere in the land, and criminals will be put to death.

From his mouth a sharp sword went out to attack the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod and will show the fierce anger of God All-Powerful by trampling the grapes in the pit where wine is made.

They will be destroyed by fire once you are here, and because of your anger, flames will swallow them.

Now bring me the enemies who didn't want me to be their king. Kill them while I watch!”

For a while I was angry at the nations, but now I am furious, because they have made things worse for Jerusalem and are not the least bit concerned.

Do you hear that noise in the city and those shouts coming from the temple? It is the Lord shouting as he punishes his enemies.

He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double-edged sword was coming from his mouth. His face was shining as bright as the sun at noon.

This made the king so furious that he sent an army to kill those murderers and burn down their city.

Those are the cruel things my enemies wish for me. Let it all happen to them!

The Lord is terribly angry with the nations; he has condemned them to be slaughtered.
