Stay away from gossips— they tell everything.

Some of your own people tell lies, so that others will be put to death. Some of you eat meat sacrificed to idols at local shrines, and others never stop doing vulgar things.

When the Lord comes, everyone who is proud will be made humble, and the Lord alone will be honored.

As surely as rain blows in from the north, anger is caused by cruel words.

You can hide your hatred by telling lies, but you are a fool to spread lies.

Though you are above us all, you care for humble people, and you keep a close watch on everyone who is proud.

I can tell those proud people, “Stop your boasting! Nothing is hidden from the Lord, and he judges what we do.”

Don't be a gossip, but never hesitate to speak up in court, especially if your testimony can save someone's life.

Don't spread harmful rumors or help a criminal by giving false evidence.

Do not tell lies about others.

Women must also be serious. They must not gossip or be heavy drinkers, and they must be faithful in everything they do.

Evil people are proud and arrogant, but sin is the only crop they produce.
