The Lord will find out and be unhappy. Then he will stop being angry with them.

After he killed some of them, the others turned to him with all their hearts.

David's order to count the people made God angry, and he punished Israel.

But God replied, “Don't go with Balak's messengers. I have blessed those people who have come from Egypt, so don't curse them.”

So they got up early the next morning and got ready to head toward the hill country of Canaan. They said, “We were wrong to complain about the Lord. Let's go into the land that he promised us.”

One day the Israelites started complaining about their troubles. The Lord heard them and became so angry that he destroyed the outer edges of their camp with fire.

The king sent for Moses and Aaron and told them, “Now I have really sinned! My people and I are guilty, and the Lord is right.

If your donkey had not seen me and stopped those three times, I would have killed you and let the donkey live.”
