But God replied, “Don't go with Balak's messengers. I have blessed those people who have come from Egypt, so don't curse them.”

Nations will be your servants and bow down to you. You will rule over your brothers, and they will kneel at your feet. Anyone who curses you will be cursed; anyone who blesses you will be blessed.”

Balaam said: “King Balak of Moab brought me from the hills of Syria to curse Israel and announce its doom.

Balak said, “What are you doing? I asked you to come and place a curse on my enemies. But you have blessed them instead!”

When Balak heard this, he was so furious that he pounded his fist against his hand and said, “I called you here to place a curse on my enemies, and you've blessed them three times.

But I wouldn't listen to Balaam, and I rescued you by making him bless you instead of curse you.

“Do you think I'm a dog?” Goliath asked. “Is that why you've come after me with a stick?” He cursed David in the name of the Philistine gods
