Our God, no one is like you. We are all that is left of your chosen people, and you freely forgive our sin and guilt. You don't stay angry forever; you're glad to have pity

But I wipe away your sins because of who I am. And so, I will forget the wrongs you have done.

Turn back to me! I have rescued you and swept away your sins as though they were clouds.

I will rescue a few people from Israel and Judah. I will forgive them so completely that their sin and guilt will disappear, never to be found.

Jeremiah, shout toward the north: Israel, I am your Lord— come back to me! You were unfaithful and made me furious, but I am merciful, and so I will forgive you.

Our Lord, no other gods compare with you— Majestic and holy! Fearsome and glorious! Miracle worker!

You are Lord God All-Powerful! No one is as loving and faithful as you are.

But you, the Lord God, are kind and merciful. You don't easily get angry, and your love can always be trusted.

When our sins get us down, you forgive us.

None who live in the heavens can compare with you.

They also say that all people of every nation must be told in my name to turn to God, in order to be forgiven. So beginning in Jerusalem,

Then the lame and the outcasts will belong to my people and become a strong nation. I, the Lord, will rule them from Mount Zion forever.

I, the Lord, promise to bring together the people of Israel who have survived. I will gather them, just as a shepherd brings sheep together, and there will be many.

Tell them that as surely as I am the living Lord God, I don't like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing them turn from their sins and live. So if the Israelites want to live, they must stop sinning and turn back to me.

and prayed: Lord God of Israel, no other god in heaven or on earth is like you! You never forget the agreement you made with your people, and you are loyal to anyone who faithfully obeys your teachings.

Israel, no other god is like ours— the clouds are his chariot as he rides across the skies to come and help us.

Do this, because on the day of judgment there will be no pity for those who have not had pity on others. But even in judgment, God is merciful!

The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.”

Lead your people, Lord! Come and be our shepherd. Grasslands surround us, but we live in a forest. So lead us to Bashan and Gilead, and let us find pasture as we did long ago.

So he prayed: Our Lord, I knew from the very beginning that you wouldn't destroy Nineveh. That's why I left my own country and headed for Spain. You are a kind and merciful God, and you are very patient. You always show love, and you don't like to punish anyone.

Then I, the Lord will save everyone who faithfully worships me. I have promised there will be survivors on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and among them will be my chosen ones.

My people, I won't stay angry and keep on accusing you. After all, I am your Creator. I don't want you to give up in complete despair.

You willingly forgive, and your love is always there for those who pray to you.

Lord God, you are merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against you

you beg me to stop being angry, but you won't stop sinning.

I will celebrate with Jerusalem and all its people; there will be no more crying or sorrow in that city.

Give up your evil ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the Lord our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins.

I, the Lord, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool.

But you forgive us, and so we will worship you.

Your deeds of kindness are known in the heavens. No one is like you!

But, our God, you are merciful and quick to forgive; you are loving, kind, and very patient. So you never turned away from them—

He prayed, “Lord, if you really are pleased with me, I pray that you will go with us. It is true that these people are sinful and rebellious, but forgive our sin and let us be your people.”

But the Lord told Elijah, “I still have 7,000 followers who have not worshiped Baal.”

But we should be glad and celebrate! Your brother was dead, but he is now alive. He was lost and has now been found.”

The Lord will abandon Israel only until this ruler is born, and the rest of his family returns to Israel.

and asked, “Amos, what do you see?” “A basket of ripe fruit,” I replied. Then he said, “This is the end for my people Israel. I won't forgive them again.

Then he asked, “Amos, what do you see?” “A measuring line,” I answered. The Lord said, “I'm using this measuring line to show that my people Israel don't measure up, and I won't forgive them any more.

“No longer will they have to teach one another to obey me. I, the Lord, promise that all of them will obey me, ordinary people and rulers alike. I will forgive their sins and forget the evil things they have done.”

Though you tired yourself out by running after idols, you refused to stop. Your desires were so strong that they kept you going.

The holy God asks, “Who compares with me? Is anyone my equal?”

Who compares with God? Is anything like him?

Just as parents are kind to their children, the Lord is kind to all who worship him,

Every bone in my body will shout: “No one is like the Lord!” You protect the helpless from those in power; you save the poor and needy from those who hurt them.

Israel's king is the Lord God. He lives there with them and intends them no harm.

Your people will take the land, just as a young man takes a bride. The Lord will be pleased because of you, just as a husband is pleased with his bride.

If you had done the right thing, you would be smiling. But you did the wrong thing, and now sin is waiting to attack you like a lion. Sin wants to destroy you, but don't let it!

I am your servant, and the people of Israel belong to you, and so whenever any of us look toward this temple and pray, answer from your home in heaven and forgive our sins.

and the enemies that have captured your families will show pity and send them back home. The Lord God is kind and merciful, and if you turn back to him, he will no longer turn his back on you.

The Lord will forgive your sins, and none of you will say, “I feel sick.”

Don't be so furious or keep our sins in your thoughts forever! Remember that all of us are your people.

If you feel you must brag, then have enough sense to brag about worshiping me, the Lord. What I like best is showing kindness, justice, and mercy to everyone on earth.

People of Israel, you are my own dear children. Don't I love you best of all? Though I often make threats, I want you to be near me, so I will have mercy on you. I, the Lord, have spoken.

They sinned and rebelled against me, but I will forgive them and take away their guilt.

I, the Lord God, don't like to see wicked people die. I had much rather see them turn back from their sins and live.

Return to the Lord and say, “Please forgive our sins. Accept our good sacrifices of praise instead of bulls.

The Lord said: I will punish Edom for countless crimes, and I won't change my mind. They killed their own relatives and were so terribly furious that they showed no mercy.

Then the Israelites got rid of the idols of the foreign gods, and they began worshiping only the Lord. Finally, there came a time when the Lord could no longer stand to see them suffer.

You bless your chosen ones, and you invite them to live near you in your temple. We will enjoy your house, the sacred temple.

It was for my own good that I had such hard times. But your love protected me from doom in the deep pit, and you turned your eyes away from my sins.

Their past sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they have done right.

I will be like the dew— then you will blossom like lilies and have roots like a tree.
