Here is what the Lord has said for all the earth to hear: “Soon I will come to save the city of Zion and to reward you.

Sing, people of Zion! Celebrate the greatness of the holy Lord of Israel. God is here to help you.

You will have power and rule until nations obey you and come bringing gifts.

But I am the Lord God of Judah, and I will have mercy and save Judah by my own power—not by wars and arrows or swords and cavalry.”

There is good news for the city of Zion. Shout it as loud as you can from the highest mountain. Don't be afraid to shout to the towns of Judah: “Your God is here!”

Their king will always come from the family of my servant King David and will care for them like a shepherd. The people of Israel will faithfully obey my laws. They and their descendants will live in the land I gave my servant Jacob, just as their ancestors did.

He will be your leader, and I will be your God. I, the Lord, have spoken.

Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest.

‘Bethlehem in the land of Judea, you are very important among the towns of Judea. From your town will come a leader, who will be like a shepherd for my people Israel.’ ”

and said, “Where is the child born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

Bethlehem Ephrath, you are one of the smallest towns in the nation of Judah. But the Lord will choose one of your people to rule the nation— someone whose family goes back to ancient times.

Do you think I am a coward when I am with you and brave when I am far away? Well, I ask you to listen, because Christ himself was humble and gentle.

and I will sing about you at the gate to Zion. I will be happy there because you rescued me.

Solomon had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horses that he kept in Jerusalem and other towns.

he told them: Take along some of my officials and let Solomon ride my own mule to Gihon Spring.

“What's all this?” David asked. Ziba said, “The donkeys are for your family to ride. The bread and fruit are for the people to eat, and the wine is for them to drink in the desert when they are tired out.”

Listen, everyone! Whether you ride a donkey with a padded saddle or have to walk.

The king should not have many horses, especially those from Egypt. The Lord has said never to go back there again.

The king of Israel will rule and destroy the survivors of every town there.

Nathanael said, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God and the King of Israel!”

The disciples left and did what Jesus had told them to do.

Jesus then explained everything written about himself in the Scriptures, beginning with the Law of Moses and the Books of the Prophets.
