The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.

While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who had to be lost. This happened so that what the Scriptures say would come true.

The Lord All-Powerful said: My sword, wake up! Attack my shepherd and friend. Strike down the shepherd! Scatter the little sheep, and I will destroy them.

The Lord cares for his nation, just as shepherds care for their flocks. He carries the lambs in his arms, while gently leading the mother sheep.

When Jesus and his disciples had finished eating, he asked, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than the others do?” Simon Peter answered, “Yes, Lord, you know I do!” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus said.

and walk a straight path. Then lame people will be healed, instead of getting worse.

and so I am willing to put up with anything. Then God's special people will be saved and given eternal glory because they belong to Christ Jesus.

My little group of disciples, don't be afraid! Your Father wants to give you the kingdom.

Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows you need all of these.

You should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, help us to honor your name.

Make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

I am sure that finding it would make you happier than having the 99 that never wandered off.

If one of my followers sins against you, go and point out what was wrong. But do it in private, just between the two of you. If that person listens, you have won back a follower.
