If someone won't welcome you or listen to your message, leave their home or town. And shake the dust from your feet at them.

Finally, they turned against him and insulted him. So he shook the dust from his clothes and told them, “Whatever happens to you will be your own fault! I am not to blame. From now on I am going to preach to the Gentiles.”

Then I emptied my pockets and said, “If you don't keep your promise, that's what God will do to you. He will empty out everything you own, even taking away your houses.” The people answered, “We will keep our promise.” Then they praised the Lord and did as they had promised.

So if you don't obey these rules, you are not really disobeying us. Instead, you are disobeying God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

I tell you for certain that anyone who welcomes my messengers also welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

“When you welcome even a child because of me, you welcome me. And when you welcome me, you welcome the one who sent me.”

And when you welcome one of these children because of me, you welcome me.

If the home is deserving, let your blessing remain with them. But if the home doesn't accept you, take back your blessing of peace.
