And during Noah's time, God did not have pity on the ungodly people of the world. He destroyed them with a flood, though he did save eight people, including Noah, who preached the truth.

They had disobeyed God while Noah was building the boat, but God had been patient with them. Eight people went into that boat and were brought safely through the flood.

Because Noah had faith, he was warned about something that had not yet happened. He obeyed and built a boat that saved him and his family. In this way the people of the world were judged, and Noah was given the blessings that come to everyone who pleases God.

People were eating, drinking, and getting married right up to the day when Noah went into the big boat. Then the flood came and drowned everyone on earth.

Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were living in that nation, their faithfulness would not save anyone but themselves.

Shem was the ancestor of Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech; they were the ancestors of the kingdoms named after them.

Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, left the boat. Ham later had a son named Canaan.

God said to Noah and his sons: I am giving you my blessing. Have a lot of children and grandchildren, so people will live everywhere on this earth.

God did not forget about Noah and the animals with him in the boat. So God made a wind blow, and the water started going down.

On that day Noah and his wife went into the boat with their three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives.

Noah did everything God told him to do.

When Adam was 130, he had a son who was just like him, and he named him Seth. Adam had more children

Adam was the father of Seth, and his descendants were Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, and Noah, who had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
