My disciples, I tell you to use wicked wealth to make friends for yourselves. Then when it is gone, you will be welcomed into an eternal home.

Jesus replied, “If you want to be perfect, go sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower.”

You cannot be the slave of two masters! You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Your Majesty, please be willing to do what I say. Turn from your sins and start living right; have mercy on those who are mistreated. Then all will go well with you for a long time.

If you cannot be trusted with this wicked wealth, who will trust you with true wealth?

Caring for the poor is lending to the Lord, and you will be well repaid.

They cannot pay you back. But God will bless you and reward you when his people rise from death.

Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves moneybags that never wear out. Make sure your treasure is safe in heaven, where thieves cannot steal it and moths cannot destroy it.

If you would only give what you have to the poor, everything you do would please God.

These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.

He said, “Cornelius, God has heard your prayers, and he knows about your gifts to the poor.

Don't store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them.

And keep in step with God's love, as you wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to show how kind he is by giving you eternal life.

Cornelius was surprised and stared at the angel. Then he asked, “What is this all about?” The angel answered, “God has heard your prayers and knows about your gifts to the poor.

Be generous, and someday you will be rewarded.

Your money flies away before you know it, just like an eagle suddenly taking off.

My people, I won't stay angry and keep on accusing you. After all, I am your Creator. I don't want you to give up in complete despair.

My body and mind may fail, but you are my strength and my choice forever.

I know what I'll do, so that people will welcome me into their homes after I've lost my job.”

Wisdom can make you rich, but foolishness leads to more foolishness.
