When you are brought to trial in the synagogues or before rulers or officials, don't worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say.
Jesus said to his disciples: I tell you not to worry about your life! Don't worry about having something to eat or wear.
I will send to you prophets and wise people and experts in the Law of Moses. You will kill them or nail them to a cross or beat them in your synagogues or chase them from town to town.
Now go! When you speak, I will be with you and give you the words to say.”
I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing?
Can worry make you live longer?
Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothes.
Don't worry and ask yourselves, “Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?”
Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today.
