In a large house some dishes are made of gold or silver, while others are made of wood or clay. Some of these are special, and others are not.

We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us.

I will use Judah as my bow and Israel as my arrow. I will take the people of Zion as my sword and attack the Greeks.

Our rulers are strung up by their arms, and our nation's advisors are treated shamefully.

Jehoiachin, you are unwanted like a broken clay pot. So you and your children will be thrown into a country you know nothing about.

The Lord said: Jeremiah, go to the pottery shop and buy a clay jar. Then take along some of the city officials and leading priests

Israel, you are ruined, and now the nations consider you worthless.
