I have other sheep that are not in this sheep pen. I must also bring them together, when they hear my voice. Then there will be one flock of sheep and one shepherd.

I, the Lord, promise to bring together my people who were taken away, and let them join the others.

You had wandered away like sheep. Now you have returned to the one who is your shepherd and protector.

Yet Jesus would not die just for the Jewish nation. He would die to bring together all of God's scattered people.

After that, I will give you a shepherd from the family of my servant King David. All of you, both strong and weak, will have the same shepherd, and he will take good care of you.

Their king will always come from the family of my servant King David and will care for them like a shepherd. The people of Israel will faithfully obey my laws. They and their descendants will live in the land I gave my servant Jacob, just as their ancestors did.

My friends, the Lord loves you, and it is only natural for us to thank God for you. God chose you to be the first ones to be saved. His Spirit made you holy, and you put your faith in the truth.

While Peter was still speaking, the shadow of a bright cloud passed over them. From the cloud a voice said, “This is my own dear Son, and I am pleased with him. Listen to what he says!”

You created each nation, and they will all bow down to worship and honor you.

Then Ananias told me, “The God that our ancestors worshiped has chosen you to know what he wants done. He has chosen you to see the One Who Obeys God and to hear his voice.

I am with you, and you won't be harmed. Many people in this city belong to me.”

Simon Peter has told how God first came to the Gentiles and made some of them his own people.

When he does, many nations will turn to him and become his people. At that time you will know that I am a prophet of the Lord All-Powerful.

Someday it will be impossible to count the people of Israel, because there will be as many of them as there are grains of sand along the seashore. They are now called “Not My People,” but in the future they will be called “Children of the Living God.”

I will make them into one nation and let them once again live in the land of Israel. Only one king will rule them, and they will never again be divided into two nations.

The Lord has shown all nations his mighty strength; now everyone will see the saving power of our God.

Now the Lord says to me, “It isn't enough for you to be merely my servant. You must do more than lead back survivors from the tribes of Israel. I have placed you here as a light for other nations; you must take my saving power to everyone on earth.”

I will say to the north and to the south, “Free my sons and daughters! Let them return from distant lands.

Words of wisdom are like the stick a farmer uses to make animals move. These sayings come from a shepherd, and they are like nails that fasten things together.

You will have power and rule until nations obey you and come bringing gifts.

God gives peace, and he raised our Lord Jesus Christ from death. Now Jesus is like a Great Shepherd whose blood was used to make God's eternal agreement with his flock.

But the gatekeeper opens the gate for the shepherd, and he goes in through it. The sheep know their shepherd's voice. He calls each of them by name and leads them out.

The time is coming when one of David's descendants will be the signal for the people of all nations to come together. They will follow his advice, and his own nation will become famous.

Then when Christ the Chief Shepherd returns, you will be given a crown that will never lose its glory.

So my sheep were scattered across the earth. They roamed on hills and mountains, without anyone even bothering to look for them.

just as a shepherd looks for lost sheep. My sheep have been lost since that dark and miserable day when they were scattered throughout the nations. But I will rescue them

When he has led out all of his sheep, he walks in front of them, and they follow, because they know his voice.

The sheep will not follow strangers. They don't recognize a stranger's voice, and they run away.

I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me.

My friends, I don't want you Gentiles to be too proud of yourselves. So I will explain the mystery of what has happened to the people of Israel. Some of them have become stubborn, and they will stay like that until the complete number of you Gentiles has come in.

Jesus told the people another story: What will a woman do if she has ten silver coins and loses one of them? Won't she light a lamp, sweep the floor, and look carefully until she finds it?
