And so your land is a desert. Every living creature is dying— people and wild animals, birds and fish.

But you will run short of grain and wine,

Every field I see lies barren, and no one cares.

Sober up, you drunkards! Cry long and loud; your wine supply is gone.

And so, at my command everything will become barren—your farmland and pastures, your vineyards and olive trees, your animals and you yourselves. All your hard work will be for nothing.

Grapevines have dried up and so has every tree— figs and pomegranates, date palms and apples. All happiness has faded away.

Harvest celebrations are gone from the orchards and farms of Moab. I have silenced the shouts of people making wine.

How long will the ground be dry and the pasturelands parched? The birds and animals are dead and gone. And all of this happened because the people are so sinful. They even brag, “God can't see the sins we commit.”

Happy times have disappeared from the earth, and people shout in the streets, “We're out of wine!”

All of your hard work will be for nothing—and there will be no harvest of grain or fruit.

When you try to farm the land, it won't produce anything for you. From now on, you'll be without a home, and you'll spend the rest of your life wandering from place to place.

The streams of Nimrim and the grasslands have dried up. Every plant is parched.

Grapevines have dried up: wine is almost gone— mournful sounds are heard instead of joyful shouts.

In answer to their prayers he said, “I will give you enough grain, wine, and olive oil to satisfy your needs. No longer will I let you be insulted by the nations.

Fig trees may no longer bloom, or vineyards produce grapes; olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure; sheep pens may be empty, and cattle stalls vacant—

I will punish your descendants and rub your faces in the manure from your animal sacrifices, and then be done with you.
