But you have ignored me and become even more stubborn and sinful than your ancestors ever were!

And you have done even worse! You are stubborn, and instead of obeying me, you do whatever evil comes to your mind.

Don't be stubborn like your ancestors. Decide now to obey the Lord our God! Come to Jerusalem and worship him in the temple that will belong to him forever. Then he will stop being angry,

So keep on doing everything they did.

“Listen, everyone! Some time ago, the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, warned you that he would bring disaster on Jerusalem and all nearby villages. But you were stubborn and refused to listen. Now the Lord is going to bring the disaster he promised.”

But your ancestors refused to listen. They were stubborn, and whenever I wanted them to go one way, they always went the other.

The people of Judah disobeyed the Lord and made him even angrier than their ancestors had.

They ignored the Lord's warnings and commands, and they rejected the solemn agreement he had made with their ancestors. They worshiped worthless idols and became worthless themselves. The Lord had told the Israelites not to do the things that the foreign nations around them were doing, but Israel became just like them.

Manasseh had turned back to the Lord, but Amon refused to do that. Instead, he sinned even more than his father.

Just admit that you rebelled and worshiped foreign gods under large trees everywhere.

The Lord said: I destroyed the land because the people disobeyed me and rejected my laws and teachings.

When times were good, I warned you. But you ignored me, just as you have done since Israel was young.

But when our ancestors took over the land, they did not obey you. And now you have punished Israel with disaster.

Ezekiel, son of man, you are living among rebellious people. They have eyes, but refuse to see; they have ears, but refuse to listen.

So before it gets dark, here is what I want you to do. Pack a few things as though you were going to be taken away as a prisoner. Then go outside where everyone can see you and walk around from place to place. Maybe as they watch, they will realize what rebels they are.

My people are determined to reject me for a god they think is stronger, but he can't help.
