No one honors you, Moab. In Heshbon, enemies make plans to end your life. My sword will leave only silence in your town named “Quiet.”

Sennacherib, you cursed, shouted and sneered at me, the holy One of Israel.

Damascus is just the capital of Syria, and King Rezin rules only in Damascus. Samaria is just the capital of Israel, and King Pekah rules only in Samaria. But in less than 65 years, Israel will be destroyed. And if Ahaz and his officials don't trust me, they will be defeated.

The beast cursed God, and it cursed the name of God. It even cursed the place where God lives, as well as everyone who lives in heaven with God.

He will brag and oppose everything holy or sacred. He will even sit in God's temple and claim to be God.

God will be as hard on you as you are on others! He will treat you exactly as you treat them.

This king will do as he pleases. He will proudly claim to be greater than any god and will insult the only true God. Indeed, he will be successful until God is no longer angry with his people.

Then I will bring you and your descendants back to your land, where I will protect you and give you peace. Then your fears will be gone. I, the Lord, have spoken.

Too much pride will destroy you.

Now he says, “The contract of a hired worker is good for three years, but Moab's glory and greatness won't last any longer than that. Only a few of its people will survive, and they will be left helpless.”

You even insulted me, but I heard it all.
