Now I will punish you with disaster, and you will slip and fall in the darkness. I, the Lord, have spoken.

You hope for light, but God is sending darkness. Evening shadows already deepen in the hills. So return to God and confess your sins to him before you trip and fall.

And when I am finished, no one from their families will be left alive.

The lifestyle of the wicked is like total darkness, and they will never know what makes them stumble.

Make them run in the dark on a slippery road, as your angel chases them.

Jesus answered, “The light will be with you for only a little longer. Walk in the light while you can. Then you won't be caught walking blindly in the dark.

and on earth, they will find only trouble and darkness, terrible trouble and deepest darkness.

You will make them stumble, never to get up again.

Now take my people to the place I told you about, and my angel will lead you. But when the time comes, I will punish them for this sin.”

Their shameful deeds show up like foam on wild ocean waves. They are like wandering stars forever doomed to the darkest pits of hell.

If we hate others, we are living and walking in the dark. We don't know where we are going, because we can't see in the dark.

The most honest of them is worse than a thorn patch. Your doom has come! Lookouts sound the warning, and everyone panics.

Kill the soldiers of Babylonia, because the time has come for them to be punished.

If you are terrified and run, you will fall into a pit; and if you crawl out of the pit, you'll get caught in a trap. The time has come for you to be punished. I, the Lord, have spoken.

Soon our enemies will get what they deserve— suddenly they will slip, and total disaster will quickly follow.

“None of you know or understand a thing. You live in darkness, while the foundations of the earth tremble.

Think about it, Lord! Have you ever been this cruel to anyone before? Is it right for mothers to eat their children, or for priests and prophets to be killed in your temple?

They should be ashamed of the way they live, but they don't even blush. And so, when I punish Judah, they will end up on the ground, dead like everyone else.
