So I will throw you into a land that you and your ancestors know nothing about, a place where you will have to worship other gods both day and night. And I won't feel the least bit sorry for you.

The Lord will let you and your king be taken captive to a country that you and your ancestors have never even heard of, and there you will have to worship idols made of wood and stone.

My anger is a fire that cannot be put out, so I will make you slaves of your enemies in a foreign land.

You will lose the land that I gave you, and I will make you slaves in a foreign country, because you have made my anger blaze up like a fire that won't stop burning.

I will pull you out of this land I gave you. I will desert this temple where I said I would be worshiped, so that people everywhere will think it is only a joke and will make fun of it.

Jehoiachin, you are unwanted like a broken clay pot. So you and your children will be thrown into a country you know nothing about.

This punishment will happen because of the horrible things your King Manasseh did. And you will be disgusting to all nations on earth.

You're our only hope; you alone can save us now. You help us one day, but you're gone the next.

They should be ashamed of their disgusting sins, but they don't even blush. And so, when I punish Judah, they will end up on the ground, dead like everyone else. I, the Lord, have spoken.

And the people who survive will ask, “Why did the Lord our God do such terrible things to us?” Then tell them: I am the Lord, but you abandoned me and worshiped other gods in your own land. Now you will be slaves in a foreign country.

So I let you be stubborn and keep on following your own advice.

The Lord said to me: Even if Moses and Samuel were here, praying with you, I wouldn't change my mind. So send the people of Judah away.

You and your mother were born in Judah, but I will throw both of you into a foreign country, where you will die,

near Hamath, where Nebuchadnezzar had them killed. Most of the people of Judah had been carried away as captives from their own country.

The Lord said these troubles will lead to your capture, and he will throw you from this land like a rock from a sling.”

When someone dies, don't visit the family or show any sorrow. I will no longer love or bless or have any pity on the people of Judah.
