My dear friends, with our tongues we speak both praises and curses. We praise our Lord and Father, and we curse people who were created to be like God, and this isn't right.

They curse and tell lies, and all they talk about is how to be cruel or how to do wrong.

You want to bring me down from my place of honor. You love to tell lies, and when your words are kind, hatred hides in your heart.

My enemies are liars! So let them be trapped by their boastful lies.

Because of this, my heart will be glad, my words will be joyful, and I will live in hope.

But Abishai shouted, “You should be killed for cursing the Lord's chosen king!”

God created men and women to be like himself. He gave them his blessing and called them human beings. The following is a list of the descendants of Adam, the first man:

Men were created to be like God and to bring honor to God. This means a man should not wear anything on his head. Women were created to bring honor to men.

and they say nothing but bitter curses.

Peter began to curse and swear, “I don't know that man!” Right then a rooster crowed,

But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you.

The Lord has said: “These people praise me with their words, but they never really think about me. They worship me by repeating rules made up by humans.

Our God, I am faithful to you with all my heart, and you can trust me. I will sing and play music for you with all that I am.

All day long I will announce your power to save. I will tell how you disgraced and disappointed those who wanted to hurt me.

As long as I live, I will pray to you.

I feel wide awake! I will wake up my harp and wake up the sun.

Keep me from any deadly sin. Only you can save me! Then I will shout and sing about your power to save.

Then I will shout all day, “Praise the Lord God! He did what was right.”

I will always praise the Lord.

I thank you from my heart, and I will never stop singing your praises, my Lord and my God.

With all my heart, I will celebrate, and I can safely rest.

David then said to the people, “Now it's your turn to praise the Lord, the God your ancestors worshiped!” So everyone praised the Lord, and they bowed down to honor him and David their king.

Then, in front of everyone, David sang praises to the Lord: I praise you forever, Lord! You are the God our ancestor Jacob worshiped.

Then they went into the temple of their god and threw a big party. There was a lot of eating and drinking, and before long they were cursing Abimelech.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the spiritual blessings that Christ has brought us from heaven!

I will praise you, Lord, and everyone will respect your holy name forever.

I will praise you, my God and King, and always honor your name.

Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on.

Religion that pleases God the Father must be pure and spotless. You must help needy orphans and widows and not let this world make you evil.
