Be silent and listen, every island in the sea. Have courage and come near, every one of you nations. Let's settle this matter!

I, the Lord, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool.

Let all the world be silent— the Lord is present in his holy temple.

Everyone, be silent! The Lord is present and moving about in his holy place.

Our God says, “Calm down, and learn that I am God! All nations on earth will honor me.”

Everyone of every nation, the entire earth, and all its creatures, come here and listen!

When that day comes, the Lord will again reach out his mighty arm and bring home his people who have survived in Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the land along the coast.

Now get ready to face me! Can you answer the questions I ask?

My protector is nearby; no one can stand here to accuse me of wrong.

Everyone, listen, even you foreign nations across the sea. The Lord chose me and gave me a name before I was born.

Come closer and listen! I have never kept secret the things I have said, and I was here before time began. By the power of his Spirit the Lord God has sent me

But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired.

Islands and foreign nations saw what I did and trembled as they came near.

Tell everyone of every nation to gather around. None of them can honestly say, “We told you so!” If someone heard them say this, then tell us about it now.

Meet me in court! State your case and prove that you are right.
