The time is coming when the Lord will make his land fruitful and glorious again, and the people of Israel who survive will take great pride in what the land produces.

Tell him that I, the Lord All-Powerful, say, “Someone will reach out from here like a branch and build a temple for me. I will name him ‘Branch,’ and he will rule with royal honors. A priest will stand beside his throne, and the two of them will be good friends.

Someday I will appoint an honest king from the family of David, a king who will be wise and rule with justice.

Listen carefully, High Priest Joshua and all of you other priests. You are a sign of things to come, because I am going to bring my servant, the Chosen King.

Someday Israel will take root like a vine. It will blossom and bear fruit that covers the earth.

Then I, the Lord will save everyone who faithfully worships me. I have promised there will be survivors on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and among them will be my chosen ones.

I promise that the time will come when I will appoint a king from the family of David, a king who will be honest and rule with justice.

The Scriptures say, “God commanded light to shine in the dark.” Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ.

The Lord's people who escape will go to Mount Zion, and it will be holy. Then Jacob's descendants will capture the land of those who took their land.

None of you will survive. You may hope to return to Judah someday, but only a very few of you will escape death and be able to go back.

Your people will live right and always own the land; they are the trees I planted to bring praise to me.

Like a young plant or a root that sprouts in dry ground, the servant grew up obeying the Lord. He wasn't some handsome king. Nothing about the way he looked made him attractive to us.

Let cities overflow with food and hills be covered with grain, just like Mount Lebanon. Let the people in the cities prosper like wild flowers.

When we told you about the power and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not telling clever stories someone had made up. But with our own eyes we saw his true greatness.

The Word became a human being and lived here with us. We saw his true glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. From him the complete gifts of undeserved grace and truth have come down to us.

Watch out and keep praying that you can escape all that is going to happen and that the Son of Man will be pleased with you.

If God doesn't make the time shorter, no one will be left alive. But because of God's chosen ones, he will make the time shorter.

How lovely they will be. Young people will grow there like grain in a field or grapes in a vineyard.

On that day, fruitful vineyards will cover the mountains. And your cattle and goats that graze on the hills will produce a lot of milk. Streams in Judah will never run dry; a stream from my house will flow in Acacia Valley.

Anyone who survives will escape into the hills, like doves who leave the valleys to find safety. All of you will moan because of your sins.

Only a few will escape and return to Judah. Then everyone who went to live in Egypt will know that when I say something will happen, it will—no matter what you say.

Tell the heavens to send down justice like showers of rain. Prepare the earth for my saving power to sprout and produce justice that I, the Lord, create.

The Lord will send rain to water the seeds you have planted—your fields will produce more crops than you need, and your cattle will graze in open pastures.

The poor and the needy will be treated with fairness and with justice. His word will be law everywhere in the land, and criminals will be put to death.

Our God has blessed the earth with a wonderful harvest!

The time is coming when the people of Judah will sing this song: “Our city is protected. The Lord is our fortress, and he gives us victory.

You were hated and deserted, rejected by everyone. But I will make you beautiful, a city to be proud of for all time to come.

The Lord will bring about justice and praise in every nation on earth, like flowers blooming in a garden.

I will make their fields produce large amounts of crops, so they will never again go hungry or be laughed at by foreigners.

Trees will grow on you mountains of Israel and produce fruit for my people, because they will soon come home.

Then the Lord All-Powerful said: You people are precious to me, and when I come to bring justice, I will protect you, just as parents protect an obedient child.
