The Lord All-Powerful had chosen a time for noisy shouts and confusion to fill Vision Valley, and for everyone to beg the mountains for help.

At that time everyone will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” They will say to the hills, “Hide us!”

The most honest of them is worse than a thorn patch. Your doom has come! Lookouts sound the warning, and everyone panics.

Enemies now rule the city and live as they please. The Lord has punished Jerusalem because of her awful sins; he has let her people be dragged away.

Isaiah, these are difficult and disgraceful times. Our nation is like a woman too weak to give birth, when it's time for her baby to be born.

to beat down you godless people. I am angry with you, and I will send him to attack you. He will take what he wants and walk on you like mud in the streets.

The altars at sinful Bethel will be destroyed for causing Israel to sin; they will be grown over with thorns and thistles. Then everyone will beg the mountains and hills to cover and protect them.

The Lord had no mercy! He destroyed the homes of Jacob's descendants. In his anger he tore down every walled city in Judah; he toppled the nation together with its leaders, leaving them in shame.

My people, soon you will suffer worse than ever before, but I will save you.

This is a message about Vision Valley: Why are you celebrating on the flat roofs of your houses?

If you are living in Judea at that time, run to the mountains.

The powerful arm of the Lord will protect this mountain. The Moabites will be put down and trampled on like straw in a pit of manure.

Now I will let you know what I am going to do. I will cut down the hedge and tear down the wall. My vineyard will be trampled and left in ruins.

Then he ordered the Babylonian soldiers to break down the walls around Jerusalem.

You people of Israel are doomed! Soon there will be panic on the mountaintops instead of celebration.

It will be a time of anger— of trouble and torment, of disaster and destruction, of darkness and despair, of storm clouds and shadows,

The Lord had decided to tear down the walls of Zion stone by stone. So he started destroying and did not stop until walls and fortresses mourned and trembled.
