Turn back to me! I have rescued you and swept away your sins as though they were clouds.

“Sir,” I answered, “you must know.” Then he told me: “These are the ones who have gone through the great suffering. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and have made them white.

Wash me with hyssop until I am clean and whiter than snow.

I am the Lord, the King of Israel! Come argue your case with me. Present your evidence.

Be silent and listen, every island in the sea. Have courage and come near, every one of you nations. Let's settle this matter!

The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God's gift of undeserved grace was even more powerful.

Every Sabbath, Paul went to the synagogue. He spoke to Jews and Gentiles and tried to win them over.

Now the Lord will be your judge. So stand here and listen, while I remind you how often the Lord has saved you and your ancestors from your enemies.

So as usual, Paul went there to worship, and on three Sabbaths he spoke to the people. He used the Scriptures

and I, the Lord, will speak. I was never unfair to your ancestors, but they left me and became worthless by following worthless idols.

But Felix was frightened when Paul started talking to them about doing right, about self-control, and about the coming judgment. So he said to Paul, “That's enough for now. You may go. But when I have time I will send for you.”

Israel, I am bringing charges against you— I call upon the mountains and the earth's firm foundation to be my witnesses.

Who could possibly judge between the two of us?

My protector is nearby; no one can stand here to accuse me of wrong.

Give up your evil ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the Lord our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins.

And if wicked people start doing right, they will save themselves from punishment.

Their past sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they have done right.

Turn your eyes from my sin and cover my guilt.

Your leaders have rejected me to become friends of crooks; your rulers are looking for gifts and bribes. Widows and orphans never get a fair trial.

The Lord is ready to accuse and judge all nations.
