Sound a warning! Israel, you broke our agreement and ignored my teaching. Now an eagle is swooping down to attack my land.

At a place named Adam, you betrayed me by breaking our agreement.

Foreigners who speak a strange language will be sent to attack you without warning, just like an eagle swooping down.

Give a warning on the trumpet! Let it be heard in Gibeah, Ramah, and sinful Bethel. Benjamin, watch out!

Israel, I first began to hate you because you did evil at Gilgal. Now I will chase you out of my house. No longer will I love you; your leaders betrayed me.

Jerusalem, you deserve to be punished, because you broke your promises and ignored our agreement.

Moab, an enemy swoops down like an eagle spreading its wings over your land.

It will be different from the agreement I made with their ancestors when I led them out of Egypt. Although I was their God, they broke that agreement.

Run for your lives, people of Benjamin. Get out of Jerusalem. Sound a trumpet in Tekoa and light a signal fire in Beth-Haccherem. Soon you will be struck by disaster from the north.

“Sound the trumpets, my people. Warn the people of Judah, ‘Run for your lives!

Shout the message! Don't hold back. Say to my people Israel: You've sinned! You've turned against the Lord.

The earth is polluted because its people disobeyed the laws of God, breaking their agreement that was to last forever.

An enemy will swoop down to attack you, like an eagle spreading its wings and circling over Bozrah. Your warriors will be as fearful as women giving birth.

So, Ezekiel, condemn them!”
