You will be made ashamed of those groves of trees where you worshiped idols.

No matter if you prosper more than the other tribes, I, the Lord, will wipe you out, just as a scorching desert wind dries up streams of water. I will take away your precious treasures.

I, the Lord, am sending a wind to destroy the people of Babylonia and Babylon, its capital.

All day long Israel chases wind from the desert; deceit and violence are found everywhere. Treaties are made with Assyria; olive oil is taken to Egypt.

It will be taken to Assyria and given to the great king. Then Israel will be disgraced for worshiping that idol.

You are a spring of water giving Israel life and hope. But if the people reject what you have told me, they will be swept away like words written in dust.

Everyone who worships idols as though they were gods will be terribly ashamed.

Your sins have doubled, and you are rebellious. Now I have decided to send nations to attack and put you in chains.
