Then the Lord's people turned against him and made his Holy Spirit sad. So he became their enemy and attacked them.

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins.

So even though the Lord had threatened to destroy the people, he changed his mind and let them live.

Then the leaders continued: No one put Micah to death for saying that. Instead, King Hezekiah prayed to the Lord with fear and trembling and asked him to have mercy. Then the Lord decided not to destroy Jerusalem, even though he had already said he would. People of Judah, if Jeremiah is killed, we will bring a terrible disaster on ourselves.

You kept your agreement and were so merciful

Even though Samuel felt sad about Saul, Samuel never saw him again. The Lord was sorry he had made Saul the king of Israel.

When only a few of the Lord's people remain, when their strength is gone, and some of them are slaves, the Lord will feel sorry for them and give them justice.

If you did, you could see where you are headed.

I wish they would always worship me with fear and trembling and be this willing to obey me! Then they and their children would always enjoy a successful life.

Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He is always the same and never makes dark shadows by changing.

Who were the people that made God angry for 40 years? Weren't they the ones that sinned and died in the desert?

Descendants of Jacob, I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I never change. That's why you haven't been wiped out,

While they were in the desert, they often rebelled and made God sad.

God doesn't take back the gifts he has given or disown the people he has chosen.

and he said, “I'm going to destroy every person on earth! I'll even wipe out animals, birds, and reptiles. I'm sorry I ever made them.”
