I don't deserve all the good things you have done for me, your servant. When I first crossed the Jordan, I had only my walking stick, but now I have two large groups of people and animals.

You alone are my shield. Your right hand supports me, and by coming to help me, you have made me famous.

The lifestyle of good people is like sunlight at dawn that keeps getting brighter until broad daylight.

Love and loyalty will come together; goodness and peace will unite.

Your people grow stronger, and you, the God of gods, will be seen in Zion.

May he always rule with you, God, at his side; may your love and loyalty watch over him.

and I have said, “Only you are my Lord! Every good thing I have is a gift from you.”

You made us a little lower than you yourself, and you have crowned us with glory and honor.

They would do the right thing and because they did, they would grow stronger.

Your future will be brighter by far than your past.

Instead, remember that the Lord your God gives you the strength to make a living. That's how he keeps the promise he made to your ancestors.

Jacob was so frightened that he divided his people, sheep, cattle, and camels into two groups.

and now I own cattle, donkeys, and sheep, as well as many slaves. Master, I am sending these messengers in the hope that you will be kind to me.”

Jacob soon became rich and successful. He owned many sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys, as well as a lot of slaves.

Wherever you go, I will watch over you, then later I will bring you back to this land. I won't leave you—I will do all I have promised.

Abraham answered, “I am nothing more than the dust of the earth. Please forgive me, Lord, for daring to speak to you like this.

David went to the town of Mahanaim, and Absalom crossed the Jordan River with the army of Israel.

The servant prayed: You, Lord, are the God my master Abraham worships. Please keep your promise to him and let me find a wife for Isaac today.

The Lord was standing beside the ladder and said: I am the Lord God who was worshiped by Abraham and Isaac. I will give to you and your family the land on which you are now sleeping.

One day the Lord said, “Jacob, go back to your relatives in the land of your ancestors, and I will be with you.”
