What is there to show for all of our hard work here on this earth?

It is useless to get up early and stay up late in order to earn a living. God takes care of his own, even while they sleep.

God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.

So we should be satisfied just to have food and clothes.

Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.

Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today.

Yet a very little food eaten in peace is better than twice as much earned from overwork and chasing the wind.

What do we gain by all our hard work?

What will you gain, if you own the whole world but destroy yourself? What would you give to get back your soul?

So I think we should get as much out of life as we possibly can. There is nothing better than to enjoy our food and drink and have a good time. Then we can make it through this troublesome life that God has given us here on earth.

Besides all this, they are always gloomy at mealtime, and they are troubled, sick, and bitter.

For example, some people don't have friends or family. But they are never satisfied with what they own, and they never stop working to get more. They should ask themselves, “Why am I always working to have more? Who will get what I leave behind?” What a senseless and miserable life!

Don't keep worrying about having something to eat or drink.

Jesus said to his disciples: I tell you not to worry about your life! Don't worry about having something to eat or wear.

I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing?

The hungrier you are, the harder you work.

to obey leaders like them and to do the same for all others who work hard with you.

Then I thought about everything I had done, including the hard work, and it was simply chasing the wind. Nothing on earth is worth the trouble.
