Yet the Lord loved your ancestors and wanted them to belong to him. So he chose them and their descendants rather than any other nation, and today you are still his people.

The Lord loved your ancestors and decided that you would be his people. So the Lord used his great power to bring you out of Egypt.

If we obey the Lord, he will surely give us that land rich with milk and honey.

The people of Israel are treated as God's enemies, so the good news can come to you Gentiles. But they are still the chosen ones, and God loves them because of their famous ancestors.

But you are God's chosen and special people. You are a group of royal priests and a holy nation. God has brought you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now you must tell all the wonderful things he has done. The Scriptures say,

Their strength and weapons were not what won the land and gave them victory! You loved them and fought with your powerful arm and your shining glory.

He chose the family of Jacob and the people of Israel for his very own.

You belong to the family of Israel, his servant; you are his chosen ones, the descendants of Jacob.

Of all nations on earth, you are the only one I have chosen. That's why I will punish you because of your sins.
