“Daniel, that was the dream that none of the wise men in my kingdom were able to understand. But I am sure that you will understand what it means, because the holy gods have given you some special powers.”

Neither my advisors nor the men who talk with the spirits of the dead could read this writing or tell me what it means.

The next morning the king was upset. So he called in his magicians and wise men and told them what he had dreamed. None of them could tell him what the dreams meant.

All of King Belshazzar's highest officials came in, but not one of them could read the writing or tell what it meant,

The king said to him, “I had a dream, yet no one can explain what it means. I am told that you can interpret dreams.”

Whatever the Lord God plans to do, he tells his servants, the prophets.

“Your Majesty,” they said, “if you will only tell us your dream, we will interpret it for you.”

Joseph said: This is the meaning of your dream. The three branches stand for three days,
