Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace.

Your people will rise to life! Tell them to leave their graves and celebrate with shouts. You refresh the earth like morning dew; you give life to the dead.

Then Jesus said, “Those people will be punished forever. But the ones who pleased God will have eternal life.”

So tell them, “I, the Lord God, promise to open your graves and set you free. I will bring you back to Israel,

I also saw all the dead people standing in front of that throne. Every one of them was there, no matter who they had once been. Several books were opened, and then the book of life was opened. The dead were judged by what those books said they had done.

I am just as sure as these people are that God will raise from death everyone, good or evil.

We believe Jesus died and was raised to life. We also believe that when God brings Jesus back again, he will bring with him all who had faith in Jesus before they died.

My people will go out and look at the dead bodies of those who turned against me. The worms there never die, the fire never stops burning, and the sight of those bodies will be disgusting to everyone.

But you, Lord, are a mighty soldier, standing at my side. Those troublemakers will fall down and fail— terribly embarrassed, forever ashamed.

Should I, the Lord, rescue you from death and the grave? No! I call death and the grave to strike you like a plague. I refuse to show mercy.

Doesn't a potter have the right to make a fancy bowl and a plain bowl out of the same lump of clay?”

He knelt down and shouted, “Lord, don't blame them for what they have done.” Then he died.

Good sense is worthy of praise, but stupidity is a curse.
